Online Double Exposure Blackjack

Apart from the different payout for blackjack some of the other online blackjack rules have also been changed for Double Exposure. The dealer wins all ties except for a tied blackjack. The player wins tied blackjacks. The dealer must hit on a soft 17. In Microgaming Double Exposure Blackjack the complete rules can be seen by moving the cursor over the Rules icon on the screen. After the ante wager is placed two cards are dealt to the dealer and two to the player. All four cards are dealt face up. The player can employ the usual moves of hit, stand, split and double according the rules specified. Since both the dealer’s cards are exposed up front, the insurance bet becomes redundant in Double Exposure.

The optimum strategy for online Double Exposure Blackjack has been generated through computer simulation and is depicted on the strategy card, which can be accessed from within the game. When the player wagers in the Expert Mode a Strategy button is displayed. Clicking this button displays the strategy card over the regular blackjack table. Unlike in most online blackjack variants, the strategy card for Microgaming Double Exposure Blackjack is displayed over two pages. The column header is used for the dealer’s hand values. The first set of columns cover hard hand values from 4 to 20 and the second set of columns cover the soft hand values from 12 to 17. The row header is used for the player’s hand values. The first section of rows covers the hard hand values from 5 to 20. The second set of rows cover the soft hand values from 13 to 20. The third set of rows cover the pairs for the purpose of split decisions. Based on the hand values of the dealer and the player, the player has to choose the appropriate row and column and read the optimum move from the corresponding cell. The instructions are both color coded and given in text in order to prevent players from making an error by oversight. The yellow cell is stand, the red cell is hit, the green cell is split and the blue cell is double.

In Microgaming Double Exposure Blackjack players can set the game on the Auto Play feature. In the Expert Mode they can activate the Auto Play set up box. There players can enter the number of deals to be played and the conditions required to stop the Auto Play. When the Auto Play is initiated, the Microgaming software will select the player’s moves from the strategy card. Thus the player neither has to memorize the strategy card nor refer to it in order to wager using optimum strategy.
